ist eine seit 2006 bestehende US-amerikanische Musikgruppe, deren Musik am ehesten unter Avantgarde oder Electropop einzuordnen ist. Die Gruppe besteht aus den beiden New Yorker Musikerinnen Busy Gangnes und Melissa Livaudais, ehemaligen Mitgliedern der aufgelösten Band Wikkid. Die Bandmitglieder leben in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) und werden der dortigen Musikerszene zugeordnet. Im Januar 2009 erschien das erste Album mit dem Titel Dance Mother, produziert von David Andrew Sitek (TV on the Radio), das unter anderem die Lieder "Chrome's on it" und "So Fine" beinhaltet.

Bestehend aus den Mitgliedern Ninja (Rap/Gesang), Yo-Landi Vi$$er (Rap/Gesang) und Disc Jockey (DJ) Hi-Tek (Beats/DJing) mischt die Gruppe musikalische Elemente des Rap, Drum & Bass und Elektro mit Texten zwischen Sozialkritik und Satire, geschrieben in Afrikaans und Englisch. Die Gruppe bezeichnet ihre Musik als Zef, dies bedeutet in Afrikaans umgangssprachlich in etwa „Hinterwäldler“ oder „Prolet“. Die Gruppe selbst versteht unter Zef die unbeschreibbare Mischung aus den verschiedensten südafrikanischen Kulturen, welche sie in ihrer Musik vereint. Im Stile amerikanischen Gangsterraps wird hier unter anderem vom Aus- und Aufstieg aus den sozialen Brennpunkten der südafrikanischen Vororte erzählt („Rich Bitch“). Ihr Debutalbum „$o$“ erschien im Jahr 2010 auf der Webseite der Band und wurde kostenlos zum Download angeboten. Als unterstützende Künstler wirkten unter anderem Jack Parow, Jaak Paarl (aka Jaak), Knoffel (aka Garlic Brown), Scallywag and Isaac Mutant mit. Frontmann Ninja (Watkin Tudor Jones) ist ein bekannter Künstler der südafrikanischen Hip-Hop-Szene und wechselt häufig seine Bühnencharaktere. Er war unter anderem unter dem Pseudonym Max Normal bei der Gruppe „MaxNormal.TV“ und als Waddy Jones bei „The Constructus Corporation“ tätig.

My name is Tomas Høffding and I am mainly known for my basslines and high pitch falsetto vokal in Disco/techno/surf outfit Whomadewho. We have been touring Europe intensely for 5 years, and we also have visited America and Australia a couple of times. MSimone Ogunbunmi AKA Mama’s addictive brand of self penned, low-fi electro-pop has a sophisticated sultriness and an intriguing hint of darkness. Taken to the stage this translates to scorching, diva-esque performances, dripping in sensuality but with a razor sharp delivery. Born to French and Nigerian parents and spending the first seven years of her life between Nigeria and Martinique, it was on the edgy council estates of South London’s Streatham that her passion for music really emerged. Digging through her siblings records and absorbing everything from acid house and hip hop to swing beat, Mama honed the musical sensibilities that distinguish her as an artist today.
